WORDSJDF LIFE_____ PAST TO PRESENT, WORD OF LIFE IS ALIVE AND GROWING Christ, the firm foundation, is what the entire Word of Life ministry is built upon. Without this solid base, the ministry would have plummeted years ago. But because of a strong stand taken by founders Jack Wyrtzen and Harry Bollback, and carried on today by Executive Director Joe Jordan, Word of Life is a ministry that has stood for over fifty years. In that time it has grown from its founding American soil to claiming many portions of the world for Christ. Word of Life is responsible for seeing thousands of lost lives changed to alive and meaningful ones through the gospel. Those same people often return to take part in the ministry of Word of Life; a testimony to the impact that this organization has had on their lives. Word of Life began with a passion to see people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus
JOE JORDAN WOLBI Chancellor ■ Director of Word of Life International (1999-present] Joe’s history with Word of Life began when he was just an 8th grade boy. Don Kelso, a successful business man, invited Joe to Word of Life Island. That week on the “very special Island” Joe “met Jesus.” Since then God has used him in amazing ways. In 1971, Joe took Word of Life to Argentina. Today Joe Jordan serves as the Executive Director of Word of Life, and strives to continue reaching the world with the gospel.
Christ. Jack knew the reality of a personal relationship with God, and could think of nothing better than to share it with others. Nothing gave him more joy then seeing peoples lives changed. He began speaking to small groups of people and it quickly grew into radio and television. The passion caught on, and numerous people caught the vision of reaching the world with the gospel. Word of Life grew into an international ministry of camps, local church ministries, and Bible Institutes in order to reach young people with the truth. Today, 46 countries around the world are a part of the Word of Life ministry. Dedicated people have given their lives to reaching people with the gospel. Countless hours are given to providing programs to help people grow in their understanding of God. With this growing knowledge applied to their lives, these people are equipped to continue the work of Christ. This ministry is one of expansion and excitement! People who once were lost are now alive to Christ. Word of Life will continue to grow as long as people like these step up to sharing the gospel with the lost people of the world. By the year 2010, Word of Life hopes to be in 58 additional countries ranging from Asia to the West Coast. This goal sounds overwhelming, but one thing Word of Life prides itself on is believing in a God who has an amazing history of making the impossible happen. This God is the same God who uses ordinary people to be ambassadors to the world to spread the gospel message. It’s those people that are needed to make this vision a reality-people who have chosen a life of setting their minds on things above.
