I was born and raised in a Christian family and asked Jesus to come into my life at the age of eight. When I was 17,1 went forward at a Bible Conference dedicating my life to the Lord. As I grew up, my parents always housed visiting missionaries so I was exposed to people who lived in other countries. When I was in college, I had the opportunity to become friends with students from other countries and learn more about the world. I didn't know it at the time but the Lord was preparing me for my future ministry. I was always interested in teaching English as a foreign language and Word of Life Korea started a new ministry called School of Youth Ministries in English. My plans were to go to Korea for 3 months but the Lord had me stay for 3 1/2 years. When I returned to the States, I was asked to begin a ministry for the international students here at the Word of Life Bible Institute. It has been amazing to look back and see how He's prepared me to love and serve our students. -4 a
You want to be credible? You want to live a life that is worthy of your calling? You want to bear fruit? People will only believe you when you show them you love them. Honestly, genuinely, sincerely... love them. Check out 1John 4:7-21. I especially like verse 12, "Me one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us" People see God when we love! WOW! Whether that's speaking hard truth to them, giving them your time to show you care, or being gentle when they don't deserve it... it's all about love. Jesus Himself said it, loving God and loving people. If you want credibility spelled out for you, check out Romans 12:9-21. "Let love be without hypocrisy..!' That, is credibility. - Michelle Hartsell
