Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 2008

A change this year was the shift from work program to service RA. They now have many of the same responsibilities as the dorm RAs in the classroom and around campus. There is at least one service RA in each work area who work about 16-20 hours a week. They oversee the area and the other students who work there as their service assignment. Being an RA involves more than just keeping order and writing d-points; it allows for first hand leadership training and experience. Weekly meetings provide instruction and accountability. Although the position demands great responsibility, with it comes invaluable preparation for the future.

Throughout campus, there are approximately one hundred first and second year students that hold the title RA. Every one is chosen by the Bible Institute dean staff to fill roles of leadership. RAs can be found in both the dorm and the work areas. The RA that is typically thought of is the dorm RA. They work directly under the DC's to manage the dorms. Each dorm RA is over anywhere from 3-10 students. Though many students may think their RA is there just to make sure they are in dress code and their bed is made, the dorm RAs also play a role in the spiritual life of the dorm and provide basic discipleship for the students under them.
