The basic idea of the first year curriculum is to build a Biblical foundation for each student. Classes are specifically focused on a certain book of the Bible. Through lectures reading assignments, chapter titles, and map projects, every student gets the opportunity to interact with the Word of God personally. The first year students get the privilege to sit under some of the greatest teachers of God^ Word. Some are known throughout the world such as Dr. Charles Ryrie and Dr. Paige Patterson. Guest lectures can include men such as professors, theologians, and pastors. But all equally share the same passion for instructing the students in the Word of God.
Dr. Tom Davis and Dr. Marshall Wicks are the two resident professors on campus. They share the teaching of Bible Survey and Theology, as well as occasionally serving as “guest lectures” for a week. Both of these men are very knowledgeable in the Word of God and encourage students to enlarge their understanding of the Bible as a whole. First year is an opportunity to absorb a vast amount of information. It is impossible to go a day without learning something new about the Bible. Through one year of intense Bible study, students learn to study the Word of God on their own and apply it to their everyday lives.

At the end -of Fall Quarter, Dr. Davis decided to have some fun with the class on Daniel int Daniel. Each student was assigned a group where they had to turn a chapter of a, a mime, a poem, or a dramatic reading. It was a good way to end the last day of classes before Winter Break. !
