time with the people who attended. These were perfect chances to follow through by chatting and sharing the Gospel. Winning souls was not the only thing that the basketball and soccer teams gained from the trip. One basketball player shared that not only did she get to lead people to Christ, but her personal walk with Him was built up as well. Members of the men's soccer team shared that they felt like they grew more as brothers in Christ while in Chile. Chile is not only a life changing trip for those that our athletes come in contact with, but it's a life changing trip for our students here too! Teams grew in skill, grew closer as brothers and sisters in Christ, and the testimonies of each player were strengthened in a way that they never imagined.

Playing a sport at Word of Life gives athletes many amazing opportunities. Athletes are given the option to spend their ten day spring break in Chile doing mission work through their sport. It gives students a common bond with others so that they can more effectively share the Gospel. Students prayed that God would keep the team safe and bless the trip in abundance. God never ceases to bless those who are faithful to Him, and He certainly didn’t let down the teams this year. Opportunities to share their testimonies were plentiful. Visits to local schools and churches to play organized and unorganized teams were the chances to start a bond with the kids.
