Second year students are offered the choice of working in a local church each week for their ministry. The details of Local Church Ministry, or LCM, differ depending on the church. The majority of LCM teams go out each Sunday morning to several different churches in the area. Students may work in Sunday school classes for children, teens, and adults. They teach the lessons that they have prepared throughout the week. Others may be involved in the church service through worship, special music, and helping in the nursery. Other LCM teams work
specifically with the children's programs each Sunday or Wednesday. They help organize and run games, teach lessons, and keep the children interested. Also, the students get to work with the kids one-on-one in small groups to teach them more about Christ and encourage them to grow. This unique ministry gives the students the opportunity to work in a local church. They are able to use and develop their gifts and talents to serve the church and ultimately the Lord. One day, they will be able to take what they have learned and get involved in their own church.
