Prayer Bands At WOLBI, students are made aware of the many missionaries serving around the world, sharing the gospel with people of various languages and cultures. To give students an opportunity to become more involved in die lives of various missionaries, prayer bands were started. Prayer bands were groups of 25-30 people, split up by regions around the world (i.e.- Central America, West Africa, The Caribbean). Every Tuesday, each prayer band met for half an hour at different locations around campus to pray for the missionaries and the ministries going on in their region. Second year students lead the groups, and informed their bands of the current political and economical needs of the country, as well as specific prayer requests for the missionaries working there. The groups then spend time praying for these specific needs. But the prayer does not stop at 7:00 on Tuesday evening. Throughout the week students were encouraged not only to pray for die missionaries, but to also contact diem via e-mail or letters to let diem know diat diey were being prayed for. The prayer band ministry helps students condnue to grow as they walk in truth. Rachel Hosan
