Local Church Ministry In my local church ministry, we worked with the Olympians and organized the game time for their clubs. I saw quickly how impressionable little kids are. They love to hear about Jesus and cling to every word you say. One of the little girls asked me one night why Jesus would love her, when her mom and dad don’t even love her. This gave me an awesome opportunity to explain the Gospel, and she received Christ as her Savior. The difficult part of this ministry was leaving the kids completely in God’s hands, especially seeing what kind of homes some of them came from. But it was always fun to see the kids excited about Jesus. The highlight of this ministry for me was die skaung party we held for die kids when they finally reached die attendance of 50 kids. Friends of Internationals Our team taught English to Chinese and Japanese students at the University of South Florida. We became their friends, teaching them about die American culture. As we became friends, diey became more open to us and eventually became open to the gospel and doing a quiet time. Through this ministry, I realized how many people have never heard about God. I learned how to be open about my faith. Somedmes it was difficult because of cultural barriers between us. But I enjoyed being friends with these students and learning about their culture, since I am headed towrard the mission field. The highlight of my ministry w?as when one of die students asked for a quiet time diary. It showed me that she was truly interested in the Word. Larah Sparks
