Prayer Bands After die Mission’s Conference ended, the Bible Institute was in danger of losing many of their students. Not for lack of interest; quite die contrary! Many were so excited about die Lord’s work overseas that they wanted to leave NOW! But knowing that the Lord had called and placed them at the BI for that year, they decided to stay in school and start ministering overseas in a different way. Prayer bands were one incredible way for students to focus in on one particular continent or region and pray specifically for its needs. After dinner every Thursday, students broke up into their continent group and ustood in die gap0for the missionaries on that field. Student leaders led the groups and brought specific needs to their attention. Though not there in flesh, these students believed diat, rthe effectual ferverent prayer of a righteous man availeth much, ( f >James 5:16. We may never know until heaven how much of a ministry we actually did have, but what a great opportunity to get together for diat one purpose. 1 Rebecca Johnson 137
