CBF Team

Children's Bible Fellowship is a multifaceted ministry designed for those who love children and have a heart for evangelism. The ministry is diverse because it not only involves working with children individually and in a group setting but it allows you the chance to familiarize yourself with New York City. I have gained a greater understanding of the needs of inner city children through my experiences with CBF. The children I have encountered have such a great need for love and affirmation, which opens up wonderful opportunities to display and share with them the love of Christ. I was greatly encouraged on my last day of ministry when God used me to lead two young girls to the Lord. I have truly valued the ministry I have had at Camp Joy and Camp Hope through CBF. “CBF is a ministry that will give you a burden for inner city kids and people. It also gave me the opportunity to get experience in a variety of different types of ministry.” - Jen Alder

‘Seeing New York City and how the people live there, and seeing the souls that need to be won... Seeing die spiritual emptiness was absolutely captivating.” - Jesse H a rrnon

flyers for the kid's club. That evening, we became counselors for a weekend retreat. All day Saturday w7as spent having fun with the kids. On Saturday, I also had the opportunity to return to New7 York City with students from the M.A.P. program to make home visits. On Sunday, w7e said good-bye to the kids and a few of the team members were able to go back into the city to drop them off at home. In my ministry experience, I learned diat New7 Yorkers are not as big and bad as people seem to think that they are! When we were passing out bag lunches in the park, I met a man whom I learned had been witnessed to previously. I was able to lead him through the plan of salvation, and he trusted Christ as his Savior. Looking back, I can clearly see how God placed me in the right place at the right time. The most difficult part of my ministry was seeing people walk away from God’s saving grace. But throughout the week, I enjoyed meeting people on the street and sharing the gospel with them. The highlight of my ministry was working with the team members as w7e gathered lire w7ood, polished the bus, and unloaded a truck of books. Working with other Christians for the furtherance of the gospel is always a thrilling experience! Elizabeth Knapp

My ministry team, CBF A, stayed at Camp Joy, thirty minutes outside of New' York City. The day we arrived, we helped haul wood for the people who live on die property. On Tuesday, we had training in the morning and wre waxed three buses in the afternoon. Then on Wednesday, we went into New7 York City. There, we passed out Gospels of John on street corners and flyers for a kid's club at the schools there. While on the street I was able to talk with two men who did not make any decision, but the seed was planted. Then in the evening we helped run a Bible Club at a local church. While there, I had the awesome opportunity to witness the salvation of a little girl. On Thursday, we went sight-seeing. We went to Riverside Church, Grant’s Tomb, the Interfaith Center, Time Square, and Chinatown. As w7e were driving through New York City, the driver would periodically drop a few7of us off on die street and w7e w7ould walk down it, passing out tracts. Another thing wre did on Thursday w?as go to a park and pass out bag lunches to homeless people. While there, I had the opportunity to lead a man to the Lord! Friday, w7e again w7ent into the city and passed out Gospels of John on the streets and passed out more
