Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 2001

“This year at my local church in Albany, I’ve learned so much and have grown in ways that I never expected. One of the many things that I learned was that God works in every kind of circumstance. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and can teach us in ways we don’t ever expect, in places we never expected to be taught. So I praise Him for what He’s done in my life so far, for putting me in places, with people that help mold me into the person He wants me to become.” Laura Rockwell

The Local Church ministry is one that affects the surrounding community in an awesome way. Each weekend throughout the school year, students travel to various churches in the area to minister in whatever ways they can. From teaching Sunday School and being involved with the teenage group to helping rake leaves or distribute tracts, students spent their weekends working for the Lord. This time of ministry aids the church and teaches students the importance of being involved in their own local church once they move on from WOLBI. The church is an essential part of the Christian's life, and these students have learned a little bit about what it means to serve in the local body of believers.
