boldness in presenting the gospel message are all that are needed for a week of witnessing in New York City. Each Fall and Spring quarter the Open Air Evangelism teams would have a week off from classes to take the message of hope to the streets of a city full of lost souls.

-

After a Saturday of training and practice, teams of twenty to thirty students left early Monday morning for a week of street witnessing. By passing out tracts, each student was able to give out die gospel and even initiate conversadons with strangers in order to share the saving grace of Christ. The infamous rope '‘trick’’ was a visual aid of how God does not see one as good, average or bad, but He sees everyone as all the same. Using just regular art paint and a portable paint board, the men on each team would take turns painting a simple illustration of the salvation message. Through these straight forward approaches, many students have been able to lead complete strangers to the Lord. The ladies on the OAE teams have had the special opportunity to conduct kid’s meetings at die various playgrounds the teams visited. This too has been a fruitful ministry as several children have put their trust in Jesus. After an incredible week of ministry, the team, which has become closer since the time they left, returns late Friday night exhausted but on a spiritual high. Each person has been challenged in his or her faith and has seen God work in

amazing ways.

OAE Team 1 “During Fall quarter we went to a park where 1 was able to sit down with an elderly lady and share the gospel with her. As we were talking she told me that she was from Romania and was only in the US for two weeks. She knew very little about the gospel, but I started sharing and God totally was working and she got saved! She said she was going home to tell all her family. From my ministry experience I learned three tilings. First, it’s not my job to get people saved, I can only share the gospel. Second, not to rely on my own strength, because I don't have any, but to rely fully on God. And third, I learned the power of prayer.” Heather Rose
