2018 JUNE The Atlantic Hurricane Season begins June 1 and lasts until Nov. 30. Preparedness is the key to protecting Pearland residents and property. By doing so, residents ensure that they will survive if a hurricane threatens the Pearland area. By knowing areas of vulnerability and what actions to take, citizens will be prepared in the event of an emergency. The City of Pearland recommends all residents develop an emergency plan for communicating with family and friends, build a disaster supply kit, obtain a Weather Radio and stockpile non-perishable food items and bottled water. Residents should also stay updated by signing up for emergency alerts at pearlandtx.gov/alerts .
