Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 1999

Christmas Tour F ew lights had been hung on the stage with much care. Little paint could be found on the unfinished set, No curtain at all was found to be there, Still, no Collegian who traveled to Florida did fret. Great trust we did have in our many directors, Elizabeth Nelson, Mike Laymon, and Harry, Mr. Donely, and the beloved Derek Decambria of course, To lead us through practice though our future be scary. With many mornings of practice and classes, We worked and we sweated until full exhaustion, Then off to the pool we would go with sunglasses, To gain back our strength laying out in the sun. Many new frienships - some special - began, Great unity among New York and Florida was born, While all with one goal full in mind gladly ran, Toward the goal of winning souls for our Savior. Soon came the performance week with great anticipation. The first night with alll its nervousness came, And we sang and we acted with great trepidation, Many came to Christ - grace and mercy fell like rain. With many a Victorian, a live horse, and a snowman, A fairy, tin soldiers, and the drummer boy’s word, Shepherds, wise men, kings, and then, With great song and a little jig we worshiped our Lord. After twelve thousand had heard us the great Christmas story And hundreds responded to the truth of the gospel, We said farewell to those friends we had eagerly made, Then we all traveled home for a long winter’s nap, God’s providence on our hearts and His praise on our lips.

A special thanks to Tim Sietman for the poem, and a big thank you to all the Collegians for all of their hard work.
