Prison Ministry

P rison ministry is an outreach to in mates in local prisons. The men visit the prisons once a week for a Bible Study, or sometimes go to help with weekend retreats. Some team members have made these re marks: “Back when I was applying to the Bible In stitute, I chose Prison Ministry because it soun ded like an adventure and because I was aspir

ing to be a policeman. I admit that I didn’t have the right motives at first but God got my atten tion. It was intimidating and scary at first, but the guys (at the prison) were real open and friendly and welcomed us with open arms. They were strong Christian men of God and more often than not, we were the ones walking away en couraged and chal lenged. To be able to

share the gospel with those in desperate and hard times was a bless ing. Thanks be to God for the opportunity.” “We had the opportuni ty to go once a week into the prison to do a Bible study. It was great to see the guys so enthusiastic as we sang, presented a short Bible Study and had group discussions. They were so eager to learn and worship.”
