Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 1993

J ^ooking back at this year at W.O.L.B.I. we see through our many different experiences how God has worked in our lives to make us people that sincerely honor Him. God worked through us during the fall quarter to give us the endurance to bear with Saturday class, of course the “glory” of Sumner Wemp made it a little easier. The Jogathon was a racing experience to see who would win the pizza party, thanks to the ongoing pep of Coach Balsley. Thanksgiving was exciting. After ending a great class with Joe Jordan on the book of Matthew, Collegians went on their Christmas tour and the rest of us went home for a relaxing, yet trying four week break. Winter quarter started with the stirring Missions Conference, in which many students committed themselves to missions and determined that they would be the ones to “Stand in the Gap.” Then there was Snow Camp, full of riotous teenagers, crazy mic men, and some pretty disgusting food eating contests. Yes, there was lots of snow, but most of all there were many, many campers who made decisions due to God working through our ministry. Spring was quite a change of pace from Snow Camp. We almost did not know what to do with ourselves, but then the snow melted and the sun began to warm things up. We could not stand to stay inside. There was tons to do, everything from sunbathing to soccer, or maybe just a relaxing stroll to the ranch with a group of friends. Then the day arrived! We were in New York City bound for Eternity One Million. This was a first for our class. Teenagers and students were all over the city telling everyone how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. What an unforgettable experience. The year was really challenging. We were blown away by the vast knowledge of our two full-time professors, Tom Davis and Marshall Wicks, and the opportunity to learn from such great guest lecturers as Charles Ryrie, Wendal Calder, and Bob Dowie. And who could ever forget the many challenges given to us every Sunday by Phil Moser, our campus Pastor, who taught us to apply the Bible to our daily lives. Speaking of challenges, we face a great challenge now as we go into the future doing all we can to carry on all that we have learned and live out our lives according to God’s Word.
