Second * y ear Academics The reading, preaching, and teaching of the Word of God in a public setting were the most vital elements in a community of believers in both the Old Testament and the New, and it has been the same ever since. In the first year of the Bible Institute, basic Bible truths are taught to develop a sound foundation for the Christian life. In the second year, those same basics are challenged and put to practical use in extensive classes dealing with youth ministries, local church ministries, and missions. In further study, God’s principles for family, personal Bible study methods, and personal evangelism are expounded. The student’s public speaking skills are refined with numerous speeches and short sermons delivered throughout the year. Papers and projects develop the methods of study taught in class. And the challenges left by each guest speaker can all be summed up in a simple statement made by our Lord: “Go therefore and make disciples...” Matthew 28:19
