Cheryl Barruso PNC Bank

Senior Vice President, Independent Risk Management Operational Risk Cheryl is currently a Senior Risk Executive responsible for executing a multi-year road map to enable the risk framework in an integrated Enterprise Governance Risk & Compliance (eGRC) platform. The platform is comprised of 21 subsystems enabling risk management processes such as Enterprise Issues Management, Risk Control Self- Assessment, Controls Management, Vulnerability Risk Management, Security Operations, Technology Risk Assessment, and Third-Party Management. In addition, Cheryl is currently executing a multi-year plan to develop a downstream risk data repository

using tools such as Teradata, OBIEE and Tableau. The repository is leveraged for enterprise-wide line of business and regulatory risk reporting and analytics. In prior roles, Cheryl is credited with developing risk management functions for both Technology and Business Resiliency. Prior to joining PNC, Cheryl spent many years working for a billion-dollar international consulting firm, concentrating in the technology and systems integration discipline. During this time, she designed and implemented complex, multi-million-dollar information technology platforms in the public and private sectors. She also developed the firm’s national contingent workforce procurement function, a shared service center focused on hiring technical resources while minimizing risk and achieving significant cost savings. Cheryl also spent several years as a Managing Director for a global executive talent and search firm where she designed and implemented a national Executive Interim Management function to augment the organization’s existing service footprint. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Business Administration from Duquesne University and continues to stay active in the talent industry by coaching senior professionals seeking guidance in taking the next step in their career journey.

As a woman business owner, Jennifer is also a long-time advocate for empowering other female entrepreneurs, working on behalf of organizations including Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), where she served as a chairperson from 2010 through 2016. Jennifer was also previously selected as the U.S. delegate to the Women’s 20, an engagement group to the G20 focused on addressing gender inequality.
