Spotlight: NCB Leadership

As a matter of pride, NCB acknowledges Mario Bustamante MSN, RN, CCRN, Director of Nursing Education, Research, and Special Projects for his selection as co - chair of the System - Wide Council of Nurse Educators (CONE).

Mario Bustamante joined North Central Bronx Hospital in 2020, and he was decisively elevated to the position of Director of Nursing Education, Research, Retention, and Special Projects in May 2022. As a result of his dedication, enthusiasm, and dynamic impressionable personality, he is highly regarded by his colleagues and nursing staff. Over the course of his career, Mario Bustamante has worked as an educator, researcher, and administrator in the field of nursing. As a certified member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (ANCC), he has advanced scientific knowledge and leadership skills that benefit patients, healthcare providers, and the organization of New York City Health and Hospitals (NYC H+H). Providing safe, evi- dence - based quality care is integral to his teachings. In the nursing education department under the direction of Mario Bustamante, nurse educators gain an understand- ing of the policies, the nursing requirements, and the workload associated with achieving excellence. Nurse educa- tors serve as role models and provide the leadership needed to promote evidence - based practices by utilizing their skills to strengthen the nursing workforce. Mario Bustamante serves as an advisor to the NCB's Professional Develop- ment Council and is one of the Pathway to Excellence's leading figures, guiding the organization to quality and inno- vation.
