On-site and Virtual Support Scholastic literacy specialists help educators meet their unique professional learning needs through collaborative training sessions, webinars, and on-site and virtual coaching. Professional learning to support targeted instruction and the implementation of the RISE framework include: • Getting Started with RISE and RISE Up: Examines the RISE framework and components; guides participants in using data to select and group students; and provides practice planning, teaching, and evaluating lessons that target specific reading skills • Getting Started with Guided Reading: Introduces the framework for guided reading lessons and helps participants select appropriate texts and practice instructional strategies • Guided Reading Lesson Planning: Explores guided reading strategies to help readers build automaticity with sight words, practice word patterns, and respond to texts
