was a year that demanded action and together with our partners, the Black Music Action Coalition delivered. BMAC began the year responding to the Los Angeles Fires crisis with care and conviction. In the aftermath of the devastation, BMAC raised $400,000 to launch the BMAC ReStore and ReBuild LA Fire Fund, standing with families and creatives when stability was stripped away. That response grew into lasting commitment, including an additional $500,000 Guaranteed Income and Support Services program to protect families in the historic Black community of Altadena y and empower residents to be able to retain their homes, rebuild or return to the community. That same belief in economic dignity guided BMAC’s work nationwide. In partnership with Gunna, BMAC launched a $500,000 Guaranteed Income program for 30 families in South Fulton, Georgia, turning generosity into stability and short- term relief into long-term impact. For BMAC, 2025 was also about building what comes next. This year, we strengthened our commitment to the next generation of creatives and industry executives, expanding BMAC Music Maker Grants, deepening mentorship programs like the BMAC Live Music Business Accelerator Program with Live Nation, and creating real pathways for young songwriters, producers, and artists to build sustainable careers. We didn’t just celebrate emerging talent…we invested in it. At the same time, BMAC advocated for some of the most critical legislative work in our history. We helped reintroduce the Restoring Artistic Protection Act and played a central role in introducing the No Fakes Act, drawing a clear line as artificial intelligence accelerates. We fought to protect creators’ voices, likenesses, and labor in a moment when technology threatens to outpace ethics. 2025
2025
BMAC convened power where it matters, bringing artists, executives, policymakers, and tech leaders into the same rooms to confront hard truths about authorship, ownership, and accountability. We made one thing clear: innovation without creators is extraction, not progress. Another powerful BMAC Gala carried our mission into the cultural bloodstream, honoring music industry leaders and artists using their platform for positive social change, generating billions of media impressions, and proving that when we gather with purpose, the world listens. For BMAC in 2025, our vision crossed borders. We expanded BMAC’s work to the United Kingdom, affirming that Black creativity is global and so is our responsibility to protect it.
