ANTHONY HOSPITAL Opened in 1898 by two sisters from the order of the Sisters of St. Francis, SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital was Oklahoma City’s first hospital. Headquartered in Midtown, St. Anthony has a long-standing and ongoing commitment to excellence and quality. As the recipient of two very prestigious awards, St. Anthony’s excellence in quality shines. In 1998 and again in 2004, St. Anthony was awarded the Oklahoma Quality Award. In 2002, SSM Health St. Anthony was honored as the first health care system in the nation to receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige Award. SSM Health continues to expand its presence across the Oklahoma City metro area with the recent additions of the SSM Health Medical Group office building in northeast Edmond and an expansion of the Frank C. Love Cancer Institute at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital. This state-of-the art, 206,000- square-foot expansion is expected to be completed in 2024 and is being built in response to a dire need for intensive care in our state.
