venues, it’s an opportunity to welcome a delegation with an increased motivation to experience the region’s world-class brewers, distillers, and hospitality.
Adding to the excitement is BET’s recent bidding success. In January alone, our team submitted 30 bids, securing 19 events that will bring over 5800 delegates to Tasmania in 2025 and 2026. With an estimated economic impact of $18 million, these wins highlight both the state’s growing appeal and the confidence placed in Tasmania as a premier event destination. Currently, business event delegates contribute $199 million in direct expenditure annually, and our goal is to grow this to $300 million. Every successful bid moves us closer to this target, driving more business to local suppliers, venues, and service providers—reinforcing a cycle of economic growth within the hospitality sector. For those directly involved in upcoming events, as well as local businesses looking to benefit from the heightened activity, the coming month is set to be both busy and full of opportunity. BET remains committed to strengthening the business events sector and proving that Tasmania is not just a destination, but a place where unique hospitality experiences connect, inspire, and drive our local economy forward.
