The manifesto of the un sustainable development goals and voice raison d’etre. “To reach the furthest behind first, support social change led by those concerned, and together contribute to a more equal and inclusive world, Voice designed a roadmap in the form of a Theory of Change (ToC). The Voice Toe supports reflection on the journeys undertaken by rightsholder groups towards making their voices heard, respected, and included. It helps Voice to conceptualise and understand how the rightsholders’ reality connects to the programme’s goal as well as the milestones along the way, and vice versa. Altogether, the pathways of change that rightsholders groups travel across the ten countries of the programme make up the journey of Voice!”

How rightsholders make change happen

As rightsholders and grantee partners recount the tales of their individual journeys with Voice, we follow their stories and narratives in this section to investigate what enabled change to happen. As a grant facility, Voice only exists through the actions of rightsholders and grantee partners, hence in many ways their progress, achievements and failures mirror the progress, achievements, and failures of the programme itself. In visualising and understanding their journeys, the Voice team drew the following core lessons:”
