Peak Motion: Walk Again Without Pain

Peak Motion Physical Therapy is now FYZICAL Camas!!! We will soon be moving into a new space with a new look just downstairs from our current location (same building). The name change is a result of a re-branding effort designed to mirror the growth and transformation of our organization. Our name has changed, but we are still the same independently owned and operated Peak Motion team that has served SW Washington since 2013. Fyzical Therapy & Balance Centers is the fastest growing healthcare franchise in America. FYZICAL is on a mission to save American’s from falling down and getting injured. This is a service missing in our community and we are excited for the opportunity to fill this need by adding a state- of-the-art balance and fall prevention center to our already successful manual therapy, orthopedic and sports rehab services. This decision aligns with our commitment to help

transform healthcare for the better and set the benchmark for the highest level of care. FYZICAL is setting the new industry standard- of-care for balance and vestibular therapy in outpatient therapy centers using these technologies: • Fall prevention technologies, such as Safety Overhead Support (SOS)® or Single Overhead Support® • NASA-level force plate technology for diagnosing vestibular dysfunction using virtual surround 3-D imagery. • Infra-red laser video oculography (IVOG) and Vestibulo-Nystagmography (VNG) for the diagnosis of difficult-to-detect balance dysfunction. • BODYQ® Comprehensive Health scoring and fitness tracking program to help people take control of their health and their lives. Have you ever thought about how amazing our ability to walk is? It is a complex system of muscles, nerves, and joints working together in harmony to lift you up. But what if you experience pain while walking? If you experience hip, knee, or leg pain, it could mean that the complex system of your gait has been effected in somewayoranother.Formore information regarding how our treatments can help you, give us a call today! What causes knee and hip pain? Knee and hip pain occur when the joints and muscles surrounding those areas lack their normal function. If the joint isn’t functioning properly, it can alter one’s mobility, which will increase pressure on the area. This can cause the area to become inflamed, thus resulting in pain. If you are experiencing hip pain, it is likely that there is a problem with your hip joint. When this happens, you will experience pain inside of your hip, or in your groin area. If you are experiencing pain outside of your hip, in your upper thigh, or buttock region, then

it is likely that there is a problem with the muscles, tendons, ligaments, or soft tissues surrounding the hip joint. Regardless of where the pain is stemming from, hip pain is typically caused by injury or strain to the jointorsurrounding regions;however, thepaincan alsobedue toanunderlyingdisease, suchasarthritis. If you are experiencing knee pain, there is a good chance the pain is rooted in your kneecap or patella. Every time you bend your knee, your kneecap needs enough space to move up and down between your femurboneand thebendofyourknee.Unfortunately, if this area becomes inflamed, then the tissues surrounding the kneecap will become tighter, and the kneecap will not have as much space to move. It will try to squeeze through the inflamed padding, causing pain in the knee, and causing the padding to grow thicker and more irritated. When this happens, the joint fluid inside your knee will begin to dry out, resulting in more friction and pain. Experience pain relief by contacting us today!

Did an excellent job helping me to rebuild strength! "Coming to Peak Motion at first I was really nervous, but all the staff were quick to make me feel at home and comfortable. I have so many great memories and never any bad ones. Even when I would come in having a bad day at least one person was able to put a smile on my face. Now that I have enjoyed this great experience I have decided I would like to become a PT in the future.” - Cole H. PATIENT SUCCESS SPOTLIGHT

2. Corn syrup – Yup. Plain old corn syrup. This one is nice because it stays the most soft and flexible compared to the rest; however, if it were to leak, you’d be left with a sticky mess. 3. Liquid dish soap – You guessed it, another one-ingredient ice pack! This one doesn’t stay quite as flexible as the rest, but at least the mess won’t be sticky in the event of a leak. 4. (2) parts liquid dish soap to (1) part rubbing alcohol. This is very similar to the one above but stays a bit more flexible. To minimize the risk of leaking after repeated uses, make sure to double bag your ice packs in sturdy freezer bags with a double-lock seal. If you have a vacuum bag sealer, this is the perfect use for it.

INGREDIENTS • 1 medium zucchini, halved lengthwise • 2 red, orange and/or yellow bell peppers, trimmed, halved and seeded • 1 medium red onion, cut into 1-inch wedges

• 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil • ½ tsp salt, divided • ½ tsp ground pepper • 1¼ pounds salmon fillet, cut into 4 portions • ¼ cup thinly sliced fresh basil • 1 lemon, cut into 4 wedges

DIRECTIONS Preheat grill to medium-high. Brush zucchini, peppers and onion with oil and sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon salt. Sprinkle salmon with pepper and the remaining ¼ teaspoon salt. Place the vegetables and the salmon pieces, skin-side down, on the grill. Cook the vegetables, turning once or twice, until just tender and grill marks appear, 4 to 6 minutes per side. Cook the salmon, without turning, until it flakes when tested with a fork, 8 to 10 minutes. When cool enough to handle, roughly chop the vegetables and toss together in a large bowl. Remove the skin from the salmon fillets (if desired) and serve alongside the vegetables. Garnish each serving with 1 tablespoon basil and serve with a lemon wedge.
