Sale Details

Insurance We take every precaution for the care and safety of your purchase. We highly recommend that you secure insurance immediately following the sale to protect your investment. Delivery Any bull selling for greater than $20K will have free transport in the continental US. All other bulls will be delivered free within a 200 mile radius of Montague California. We will help facilitate the most economical shipping for any animals needing transportation over 200 miles. Bulls born before 12/1/2024 need to be picked up or delivered by March 1, 2026 and those born after 12/1/2024 need to be picked up or delivered by April 1, 2026 unless other arrangements All bulls will pass a breeding soundness exam prior to being delivered or picked up. All bulls come with a first breeding season guarantee. A breeding season is defined as a 90 day period from bull turn out to take out. Our warranty includes semen and feet issues (not stemming from injury or management issues) for the first breeding season. All other injuries such as broken penis, foot rot, acts of God and situations related to management that are beyond our control will not be covered. A vet inspection will be required for any warranty claim. have been made between buyer and seller. Guarantee/Warranty We understand the investment you make in your bull can be significant. We will make every effort to take care of you if something goes awry. Warranties will be settled as sale credit, less the salvage value of the bull. If mutually agreed upon and a replacement bull is available the warranty may be settled with a replacement bull and the salvage value of the original bull shall go to the seller.

Sale Location and Format This is an online timed event hosted by DV Auction. Bidding opens on February 15th and closes on February 16th at 6 PM PST. All lots close at the same time. If a bid is placed within 5 minutes of the closing time, closing times will be extended to 5 minutes after that bid. This continues until no bids are placed for 5 minutes. NO BUYER’S FEE OR COMMISSION. Open House and Cattle Viewing We will have an Open House on February 15th from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm . Cattle will be penned for viewing, and food and refreshments will be available all day. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to check them out anytime prior to the sale, just give us a call! • In a really consistent set of bulls, it seems a lot harder to pick a bull to lead off the group. This OMF Epic son is all of the things we are trying to produce, and he really catches your eye in the field. His mom comes from an extra fertile, high longevity line of ours that is extremely consistent. Expect the same from this guy- these are the kind that will make you keeper females and growthy, eye catching steers.

• Lot 3 has a lot of maternal brothers working on the West Coast. His granddam has been our most productive donor cow, and his sire has proven himself to be extremely consistent in structural quality, type and passes on some very impressive EPDs.

• Here is one we have loved since he was a few days old. His dam is the prettiest first calf heifer and she really nailed it with this guy. His EPD profile is impressive, he’s built right, and his sire has proven himself to make really productive, excellent carcass cattle.

• If you are looking for the upper end EPD profile, here is one that you’ll want to study. You can look at a lot of sale bulls this season that don’t put it all together like these RFS Kearney sons. They aren’t just good on paper, they are performing in real world conditions, living up to their potential.

• Another OMF Epic son, this one with just the right white face. If you want a really stout, really mellow herdsire who will make calves that look just like him, here is a solid option. His dam is one our girls showed back in the day and she has made some really good bulls. They are always near the top of the sale order every year. These are consistently smaller BW cattle.

• The sale yards love a little white face on these crossbred cavles- here is a bull that can deliver on that. His dam is one of those quiet cows who doesn’t make waves and just gets the job done. She usually has bulls, and they are all the right kind. Her mom was one of the most productive dams we have produced.

• Here is a great numbered heifer bull that you can use on everything on the ranch. Another really good numbered bull that will live up to expectations.

• If you need to put some dimension and thickness in your calves, this is the bull you’ll need to take home. With a little older pedigree on the cow side, his EPDs are softer, but I guarantee you will LOVE his calves. He is wider than any bull in the sale, and he will put it into his calves. His sister from last year is my favorite first calf heifer and is reaising a whopper of a bull calf for us.

• This bull was born to a 12 year old dam who obviously did a great job for Lester and Paula over the years. It’s easy to improve longevity and fertility in your females if you pick bulls like this and retain heifers. That’s a money making proposition.

• There are only 2 SAV Cattlemaster sired bulls in the sale and they match up really well. Very sound, with good growth and above average EPDs across the board. This would be a good set if you need a couple of 1/2 blood bulls. Lot 18 gets snotty when he is by himself and you put pressure on him.

• This guy has a dam who has been one of the best bull makers we’ve had on the ranch. You’ll get a lot of growth and extra muscle in his calves.

• I really like this late February calf. His dam is one that I hoard all of the heifers out of- she breeds easy, is nice to handle and makes them stout, big boned and growthy without a lot of frame. His cool face markings are just a bonus on this quality calf.
