for the man, yet he himself was with out funds at the moment. He wanted to do something, however, so he took the mendicant to a nearby restaurant where he was acquainted. Taking out a blank piece of paper, Mozart com posed a minuet right on the spot. He gave it to the beggar and told him to take it to his publisher who had a standing offer any time the writer had some available music. You can imagine the ready delight of the poor fellow who would soon have his needs met, for the manuscript was like a bill, payable on demand. Yet consider ourselves for a moment. We are nothing more than poor beggars. Think what it means to have a Divine Friend who has unlimit ed credit in Heaven, and in Whose name we may come at any moment to God’s treasure house for our needs. No checks forwarded to the bank of Heaven, presented in the name of God’s only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, will ever be rejected for lack of God’s funds. We have such blessed promises as, “My God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” h * * Those whofear thefuture arelikely to fumble the present. * * * IMPORTANCE OF FAITH It was that outstanding man of prayer, George Mueller, who declared “Faith is the eye by which we look to Jesus. A dim-sighted eye is still an eye and a weeping eye is still an eye. Faith is a hand by which we lay hold of Christ. W H A T IS BIOLA? The other day we received a letter from an individual who said, “It seems as if I heard more today about Biola, but you don’t often mention the Bible Institute. Why is this?” Well, first of all, understand that the word ‘Biola’ is made up of the first letter from each of the words in our name, Bible Insti tute of Los Angeles. When my parents attended Biola, back in the 20’s, a high school diploma was necessary to meet the challenge of the world. In the for ties, when my wife and I attended Biola, the old 2-year Bible Institute had been extended to three and four years. Now, in the sixties, as our children prepare to enroll, the importance of an accredited college degree is paramount. But whether in the 20’s, id ’s or 60’8, the Bible is still Biota’s central core of curriculum. Academic demands have increased and Biola has met those needs. A t the same time, however, as always, we have maintained our same highest spiritual standards. When you hear the word ‘Biola,’ it actually refers to all of our organization, not only the Bible Institute, but also Arizona Bible College, Biola School of Missionary Medicine, Talbot Theological Seminary, and of course, Biola College. —A l Sander8 * * * Even though we do what we can, it it God who will do what we can't. it h h PAYABLE ON DEMAND No doubt you have, at sometime, been accosted by a panhandler. Mozart, the famed musician, walking through the streets of Vienna, was approached by a beggar who began his tale of woe with fervor and enthusiasm. The musi cian had a soft heart and felt sorry
