Will Help You Acquire Many Skills and Insights HAVING THE WILLINGNESS TO LEARN

Hi newsletter friends! I’m Stacy, and I recently joined the Financial Architects family four months ago. In early September, I joined the support team at FAI to help with the account transition to SEI. My role during this transition is to put together and review client paperwork and issue it to clients for their authorization. Then I ensure the accounts are established and funded. At the time of writing, I am still working on wrapping up this transition, but once it’s complete, my role will become Client Relationship Coordinator (CRC). I look forward to this new role and being able to attach faces to the client names I’ve been working on. But most importantly, I’m excited to continue learning and becoming a liaison between advisors and clients. Before joining Financial Architects, I hadn’t ever worked in the financial industry — my background is in automotive advertising. I worked in media planning for General Motors and Ford ad agencies. In advertising, I worked with a variety of clients, sales reps,

and internal teams to bring forward the best- integrated media plan recommendations to meet their goals. I acquired the expertise needed to communicate with colleagues and clients, develop problem-solving skills, and work effectively with a team. So, you may be wondering how I ended up at FAI. I learned about FAI and their needs through Jan Winters. She is the Executive Assistant to Chris Cousins and Patrick Marody. I’ve known Jan and her family for many years. She told me about FAI and the company’s family atmosphere and believed I would be a great fit for the support team. So, I applied for the position and couldn’t be happier with my decision to join the FAI team. While I was told how great my colleagues were in advance, I was still surprised by how friendly everyone was. The team is always willing to lend a helping hand, offer guidance, and support each other personally and professionally. Even though I joined the team when there were many moving parts and changes, everyone made me feel welcome. I can’t thank my team enough for their guidance and showing me how the pieces fit into the larger picture. My colleagues motivate me daily to improve and develop my skills. But another motivating and rewarding aspect is seeing the result of this massive transition we are currently in. Sometimes, it may seem like transferring paperwork and ensuring everything is in place is never-ending, but the end goal is in sight. I love seeing all the

puzzle pieces come together, and all our team’s hard work is paying off.

I want to thank Jan for trusting in me and Chris and Patrick for giving me this incredible opportunity. The finance world and the systems at FAI are still new to me. But I have the willingness to learn, and I can’t thank my team enough for being patient with me and offering guidance and insight where needed. I especially would like to thank Sherry Hanford, my officemate, for answering my many questions and taking the time to provide the background and explanations to help me learn the business. She has been extremely helpful in getting me up to speed and moving forward. I look forward to continued learning to help me serve our clients better and seeing what the future has in store for us all!

Change to Weekly Meeting INSIDE FINANCIAL ARCHITECTS

You might be able to tell when you’re getting sick just by talking — your voice may sound raspy or strained. You can gain insight into a person based on their speech. Researchers at the National Institutes of Health are developing an app that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to determine if you’re ill — all by studying the voice. Voice data is being collected in five areas of health concerning neurological, voice, mood, respiratory, and pediatric disorders. The team of experts hopes to obtain 30,000 voice samples to improve the accuracy and algorithm of the app so it can diagnose multiple kinds of health conditions and disorders. Dr. Yael Bensoussan, the director of the University of South Florida’s Health Voice Center and the leading researcher on the study, stated that vocal vibrations and breathing patterns can provide tons of information about your overall health. For example, if someone were to speak low and slow, it could be a sign of Parkinson’s disease. Scientists even think they can diagnose depression or cancer by analyzing and studying a person’s voice. So, how would this app work? According to Fox 13 in Tampa, you can speak into your phone, and the app will record your voice and cross-examine it with its voice collection database. While this may be new to some, researchers in Australia developed a voice screening app that can detect Parkinson’s disease and COVID-19. But what makes Dr. Bensoussan’s study and app different than her competitors is that she aims to keep data privacy at the forefront of her research. Scientists and researchers on the team are excited about the future and how this app will help millions of people. Dr. Oliver Elemento, a co-investigator and director of the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine, told Fox 13 that “future findings could lead to a revolution in health care, where continuous voice monitoring could alert physicians earlier than currently possible to certain conditions.” A NEW HEALTH APP IN THE WORKS Hey Alexa, Am I Sick?

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the team at Financial Architects established a brand-new weekly check-in meeting designed to bring the entire staff together. There were multiple goals behind this decision, including a regular opportunity to process companywide issues as a group and also go over the company’s weekly fundamental behavior. Whether staff members are virtual or in person, it is just a great chance to get together on a regular basis to communicate and get on the same page. On Dec. 13, the Leadership Team led by Pat Marody decided to change the format for the day and bring in a guest speaker. Pastor Robby Emery, alongside his wife Danielle, joined our crew in the large conference room for a chat about life, relationships, “Heart and Hurt,” and a little Michigan football. Robby and Danielle run the Royal City Church in Royal Oak where their passion is people and a “spirit-empowered community.” Robby is also the pastor for the University of Michigan football team and recently took on the role of executive assistant to head coach Jim Harbaugh. He travels to every road game and has been a vital contributor to the culture change that has occurred with the squad over the past two seasons. Robby and Danielle were introduced to Pat by his son Cooper, who got to know the Emerys while he played hockey at U of M. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING MOST FORWARD TO IN 2023?

With both of us settling into new routines at work, we are looking forward to life slowing down in 2023 and being able to spend more time together as a family. We have two pups at home, Tucker and Lulu, who we love to take on hikes and enjoy the outdoors. They keep us busy and active when we are not at work.
