A shley Gilley’s story is one of resilience, redemption, and the transformative power of faith and support. After 12 years of battling addiction, multiple rehab attempts, and heartbreaking losses, Ashley found a new path through Mary Hall Freedom Village that has changed her life forever. Her struggle with meth addiction began over a decade ago. Despite her efforts to overcome it, Ashley faced setbacks, including two previous rehab stays. In 2021, her life took a difficult turn when she went through a divorce and lost custody of her children. For a time, Ashley was overwhelmed by despair, but she kept fighting to regain her footing. In the months that followed, Ashley experienced moments of hope. She secured her first job, managed to stay sober for several months, and was able to reunite with her daughter. However, her journey was far from over. She became pregnant with her childhood sweetheart, and unfortunately, the relationship turned abusive. In 2023, Ashley faced the devastating loss of her children and spiraled into a dark place, losing faith and hope, and even her visitation rights. Everything seemed lost when a pivotal moment occurred. Following a heated argument with her ex, Ashley fell asleep in her car. During that moment, she felt a divine presence—she heard God say, “Enough is enough.” That moment sparked a turning point. Ashley made the decision to seek help and went to Right Side Up, where she stayed for four months. Although she faced challenges, including struggles with authority, she continued to pursue her recovery and regained some visitation rights, gradually rebuilding trust with her children. Recognizing her need for a stable foundation, Ashley reached out to Mary Hall Freedom Village. She was ready for a fresh start, and MHFV welcomed her with open arms. Since arriving on February 28, 2024, Ashley’s life has been transformed. The supportive staff and the mission of Mary Hall Freedom Village have played a crucial role in her journey. She engaged in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), secured employment, and participated in the Success Academy and Freedom Academy, which helped her develop new skills and confidence. With dedication and faith, Ashley has made remarkable progress. She secured her own apartment, started building a relationship with her daughter, and is now working toward reunifying with her other children, with plans to regain full custody by May. Her perseverance has opened doors she once thought were closed. Ashley now shares her story as a testament to others that hope and change are possible, regardless of the obstacles faced along the way. Her advice to others is simple but powerful: “You are worthy of a life you’ve never experienced. Just go for it, and you will experience miraculous things.” Ashley’s journey serves as an inspiration to all who are seeking redemption and a second chance. Through faith, determination, and the support of Mary Hall Freedom Village, she is living proof that it’s never too late to start over and create a brighter future.
