The story of the apartment’s renovation was a huge endeavor. Graced with amazing elements – like a vast glass roof, precious moldings and sculpted fireplaces – the apartment’s obsolete fittings made it ill- adapted for a comfortable, peaceful family life. The Véronique Cotrel Agency embarked on a project to entirely renovate the apartment including the bathrooms and electrical system. The architects’ ambition was clear: revive the location’s splendor while optimizing function to meet the unexpected demands of everyday life in a modern family. The apartment layout, as the framework for the project, was adapted to encourage an easy flow. Each room’s surface and layout is now a crossroads for spontaneous encounters. By opening up to each other, the areas communicate and offer a circular energy. The light-filled kitchen, a haven for well-being, opens onto the intimate, muted dining room where the entire family can get together. Two living rooms separated by sliding panels optimize the space’s proportions for moments of relaxation and diversion. In all the rooms, the designed, contemporary designer furniture adds the right touch to contrast with the apartment’s Haussmannian details. In the parents’ suite and children’s rooms, the novelty wallpapers satisfy a desire for fantasy with their confident, colorful accents. Midnight blue, forest green and acid yellow recall the modern color card of Maison Sarah Lavoine creations. Over the main fireplace, a Calder-inspired mobile is the link between a cultural heritage and the avant-garde, a symbolism perfectly in tune with this apartment renovated thanks to the expertise of the Véronique Cotrel Agency. verocotrel.fr
Véritable ossature du chantier, le plan de l’appartement fut travaillé pour en- courager la confluence. Chaque pièce par sa superficie et son nouvel agen- cement est un carrefour de rencontres. Ouverts les uns sur les autres, les espaces communiquent et laissent l’énergie circuler pleinement. Baignée de lumière, la cuisine est un havre de bien-être donnant sur une salle à manger plus intimiste et feutrée où tout le monde peut se retrouver. Deux salons sé- parés par deux panneaux latéraux offrent des proportions optimisées pour les moments de détente et de divertissement en famille. Comme dans les autres pièces, le mobilier design et contemporain contraste élégamment avec les références haussmanniennes. Dans la suite parentale et les chambres des enfants, les papiers peints fan- tasques habillent les murs et satisfont les envies de fantaisie. Les couleurs s’imposent par touches comme une ponctuation. Bleu nuit, vert forêt et jaune acide rappellent le nuancier moderne des créations Maison Sarah La- voine. Sur la cheminée principale, un mobile façon Calder fait le trait d’union entre l’héritage culturel et l’avant-garde. Une symbolique qui sied parfaite- ment à cet appartement.
