Parallel to the Malaysian Government’s commitment to reduce the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions by 45%, MIGHT and Green Computing Initiative host the Inaugural Green Computing Awards (GCA) 2021 in recognition of Government agencies commitment to green growth initiatives. GCI is a green computing accreditation and certification organisation that certifies and supports ICT organisations and professionals in Green Computing technology. Its certification is the standard sought by the industry to ensure ecient and eective sustainable computing practices, and to reduce or limit the harmful impacts of computing and implementing eco-friendly means. MIGHT also introduced the GreenDC Retrofit Kit for Green Data Centre a Malaysian-made technology that has won several international awards including an award from the United Nations (United Nations) in 2015. Green data centres are able to reduce energy costs by 60% and reduce the energy costs and carbon footprint of the Government’s facilities.
