Development Of The New Industrial Master Plan (IMP)
The New IMP aims to align the quest for the nation’s competitiveness through industry development with the values of social inclusion and environmental sustainability, considering the interconnectedness of economies, adopting and responding to a new global development, which is more volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) than ever. The development of this master plan adopting a foresight methodology including scenario building approach - a process of analysing plausible futures and considering alternative plausible outcomes of industrial development. This will ensure a more robust policy that has accounted for several alternative future developments rather than showing one exact picture of the future for Malaysia’s industrial development.
The Outcome
Strategies and action plans for the next 10 years that are not only meant to drive industrial development but also to bridge the expectation of being an aspirational master plan whilst taking its feasibilities into consideration.
