Capacity Building & Awareness For Green Building Certification In Melaka (Melaka Green Seal) July 2020 - October 2021 | Online The project, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia, KPKT, MIGHT, Standard Malaysia and Melaka State aims to enhance and increase its capacity for Melaka Green Seal building number of assessors and awareness on guidelines and regulations to government o cers, developers, planners, architects, contractors and related stakeholders. The objectives of this programme are: To prepare and enhance collective capacity prior to statewide implementation of Melaka Green Seal To enhance awareness of related stakeholders to better understand the Melaka Green Seal guidelines and regulations To share and potentially replicate Melaka green building initiatives and implementation to other states in Malaysia To reduce GHG emissions from future development in Melaka
Knowledge Sharing & Training: How to Accelerate the Implementation of Smart Cities in Malaysia 15 -16 March 2021 | Online In March 2021, MIGHT together with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, PLANMALAYSIA, I-KPKT, and Urbanice Malaysia organised a virtual forum and training on “Knowledge and Sharing Session: How to Accelerate the Implementation of Smart Cities in Malaysia" as a part of capacity building for GEF6 Sustainable Cities Development in Malaysia. The 2-day programme is divided into 7 modules where each module focuses on a specific topic such as the implementation of smart cities in line with national aspirations, development and planning process, collaboration and strategic partners, the contribution of smart cities to SDGs, smart cities as a tool for adaptation to new norms during and after COVID-19, the identification of appropriate technologies in smart city implementation and most importantly the funding mechanism for smart city implementation at the grassroots level. 600 participants comprising local authorities (PBTs) in Malaysia joined this programme virtually and gained information on business opportunities, funding model from the knowledgeable panellist and speakers. It also provided guidance and know-how to all participants in producing good documentation and executing successful smart city projects in Malaysia.
