BRIAN WHITMER, SENIOR DIRECTOR OF THE METROPOL- ITAN AREA CAPITAL MARKETS GROUP, C&W (NJ) Part of a 13-member team, Mr. Whitmer is responsible for manag- ing, underwriting, and marketing investment properties for sale and arranging joint ventures in the suburban markets surrounding New York City. While he handles all asset types, his focus is on multifamily transactions. His clients include pension fund advisors, REITs, and a range of domestic and foreign private investors. COREY WESCOE, DIRECTOR OF ACQUISITIONS - NORTH- EAST CORRIDOR DIVISION, PULTE GROUP As Director of Acquisitions for the Pulte Group, Northeast Corridor Division, Mr. Wescoe oversees all of the Division’s site selection, underwriting, negotiation, and land purchases throughout eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and southern New York. Mr. Wescoe is based in the Division’s Basking Ridge office and focuses on identify- ing new development opportunities, due diligence analysis, strate- gic forward planning, and delivering the company an adequate sup- ply of land in high-barrier-to-entry markets. Mr. Wescoe has been responsible for the sourcing and contracting of projects totaling in excess of 3,000 homes. GEORGE VALLONE, PRESIDENT, THE HOBOKEN BROWN- STONE COMPANY (HBCO) George Vallone’s firm has been responsible for renovating brown- stones, brick row houses and has built mid-rise and hi-rise condo- miniums in Hoboken and Jersey City. His development companies specialize in large mixed-use Brownfield redevelopment projects. The successful redevelopment of 1.8 MSF of mixed-uses at the Max- well House Coffee property on the Hoboken waterfront, “Maxwell Place on the Hudson” was voted Best Urban Large Scale Mixed Use Development in 2010 by NJ Future and was awarded a Phoenix Award for being the best brownfield redevelopment in Region 2 by the US Environmental Protection Agency . BRIAN M. STOLAR, FOUNDER, PRESIDENT, AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE PINNACLE COMPANIES Having led the company’s growth from a start-up in 1984 to its pres- ent position as one of the New York metropolitan area’s foremost development companies, Brian’s steadfast focus on technology, de- sign, quality and cost control has greatly contributed to the com- pany’s steady expansion in the marketplace. Prior to starting the Pinnacle Companies, Brian was a real estate attorney with one of the largest New Jersey law firms. STEVEN L. HUMPHREYS, SPECIAL COUNCEL, KELLEY DRYE Steve Humphreys is special counsel in the firm Kelley Drye’s Parsip- pany office, where he concentrates in all aspects of environmental law and related counseling of businesses. He also assists business clients in such emerging fields as environmental sustainability busi- ness auditing, renewable energy development and energy conser- vation infrastructure. Other areas of emphasis in Mr. Humphreys’ practice include litigation and regulatory compliance counseling in matters arising under CERCLA, the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and vari- ous state and local environmental laws. GEORGE TYLER, FOUNDING SHAREHOLDER, TYLER & CARMELI, P.C. George Tyler handles a wide variety of business, corporate, land use and real estate matters, including general counseling, administrative agency practice permit prosecution and related litigation. He con- centrates in environmental law with extensive practice before both state and federal environmental agencies. He served as Assistant Commissioner of the NJDEP and as director of the New Jersey Divi- sion of Environmental Quality.
RYAN SEVERINO, SENIOR ECONOMIST AND DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH, REIS, INC. Ryan Severino is senior economist and director of research in the research and economics department at Reis, the team responsible for the firm’s market forecasting, valuation, and portfolio analytics services. Prior to Reis, Ryan served as the Associate Director of Re- search at MetLife Real Estate Investments. Before joining MetLife, Ryan served as the Director of Investment Strategy and Market Research at Starwood Capital Group. Additionally, Ryan currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of finance and economics at Colum- bia University and New York University. DEBRA TANTLEFF, FOUNDING PRINCIPAL, TANTUM REAL ESTATE Debra Tantleff operates a certified Women’s Business Enterprise fo- cusing on creating boutique multi-family and mixed-use communi- ties in the New Jersey region. Prior to founding TANTUM, Ms. Tan- tleff was a Vice President of Development at Roseland, a Mack-Cali Company, where she established a highly acclaimed reputation for delivering exceptional mixed-use developments, with a portfolio consisting of more than 3,500 residential units and 175,000 square feet of retail space. MERYL A.G. GONCHAR, CO-CHAIR OF THE REDEVEL- OPMENT AND LAND USE DEPARTMENT,GREENBAUM, ROWE, SMITH AND DAVIS LLP Meryl Gonchar’s practice encompasses all aspects of land use, zon- ing and related litigation. She represents property owners and devel- opers in appearances before planning and zoning boards throughout the state in connection with obtaining land use approvals and per- mits for residential, retail, office, industrial and mixed use projects. She also represents clients in land use and related litigation before the Superior Court of New Jersey. Ms. Gonchar’s diversified experi- ence enables her to provide clients with continuity throughout the often long and complicated land development process. ANTHONY VULPI, DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE, MILL CREEK RESIDENTIAL Anthony Vulpi is focused on sourcing new opportunities and facilitat- ing the entire development process for new Mill Creek communities throughout Northern New Jersey, the NJ Gold Coast and New York. He has experience sourcing off-market opportunities, focused on creat- ing value through re-zoning and redevelopment of underutilized or obsolescent assets. In December of 2015, Vulpi closed on Mill Creek’s most recent land acquisition of 3.7 acres in Yonkers, NY, which will feature 324 luxury apartment homes on the Hudson River waterfront. JORGE H. BERKOWITZ, PH.D., LSRP, SENIOR CONSULTANT LANGAN ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES Dr. Berkowitz became an environmental consultant in 1989. He pres- ently is employed by Langan Engineering and Environmental Servic- es, Inc., and is in charge of the environmental component of their Lawrenceville office. As an environmental consultant, Dr. Berkow- itz specializes in remediating and redeveloping contaminated sites, regulatory compliance, environmental health and Brownfield Rede- velopment. Dr. Berkowitz has worked on some of the most notable Brownfield Redevelopment projects in New Jersey. Dr. Berkowitz serves as an expert witness on associated environmental issues. Dr. Berkowitz serves in several capacities as an advisor to the NJDEP and is a member of various Boards of Directors and advisory committees for several professional organizations in New Jersey.
