February 18th, 2016. Iselin, NJ. CREW NJ (Commercial Real Estate Women of NJ) hosted a panel on the NJ incentive programs. CREW NJ President-Elect, Diane Menard, of Prestige Title Agency, Inc., organized the program along with fellow CREW NJ members Cecilia Lassiter, Esq. of Sills Cummis & Gross, PC and Leah Sandbank, Esq. of McManimon Scotland & Baumann, LLC. The panel included the following individuals who have all worked directly with the NJ incentive programs.

• Jessica Paolini, Economic Development Officer, ChooseNJ, gave an overview of Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno’s Partnership for Action Program. • Paul Ceppi, NJEDA – Director, Business Banking&Community Development, gave an overview of the GROW NJ and ERG (Economic and Redevelopment Growth) programs and how his team helps investors access the incentive plans within our state. • Cecilia Lassiter, Esq., Sills Cummis & Gross, PC, presented a summary of GROW NJ business attraction and retention incentive programs from inception through the application process. Cecilia further defined the parameters involved in the granting of the incentives aswell as a comparison of how they compare in a side by side look at two different municipalities. • Leah Sandbank, Esq., Partner, McManimon Scotland & Baumann, LLC, focused her presentation on the incentive tools for financing real estate projects in an evolving market including tax exemptions, bond financing for redevelopment, state, Federal and municipal tax credits and incentives and a review of several case studies she has worked on in various NJ municipalities. • Linda Morgan, AICP, DBE, RBH Group, presented the way RBH Group has successfully worked with the NJ incentive programs involved with Teacher’s Village, Makers Village, Four Corners MillenniumProject and Soma Newark.

CREW NJ President Rebecca Machinga, of WithumSmith+Brown, PC, presented Jeff Hipschman, Senior Managing Director of Brokerage Services for CBRE, with the CREW NJ 2015 Organization of the Year Award. Rebecca Machinga also introduced Andrea Inauen, Executive Director of February’s charity beneficiary, Fighting Children’s Cancer Foundation. Inauen conveyed to the audience the wonderful things the organization is doing to help
support families who are going through a difficult time with a sick child. Audience members filled piggy banks on each table, which were painted by children being supported by the organization. Inauen also encouraged attendees to adopt a pig for a month to take back to their offices to garner additional support for the charity.
CREW NJ’s next meeting will be held on March 16, 2016 at the APA Hotel Woodbridge in Iselin. The guest speaker will be Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno in honor of Women’s History Month. Registration and networking will begin at 9am.
