BRATE The 5,374-passenger Carnival Celebration is the second of three revolutionary Excel- class ships and is being constructed at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction, the ship will run on liquefied natural gas (LNG) which reduces carbon emissions. Acknowledging the company’s ‘Fun Ship’ pedigree, guests will spot pieces from former Carnival ships. In the Aquaria Bar, ocean- themed glass murals from Carnival Victory will be incorporated into a striking two-deck- high decorative wall behind the bar to create an aquarium-like effect. The Tropicale Bar is named after Carnival’s first ship to sport the line’s iconic ‘whale tail’ funnel. Spanning 18 decks, the ship will feature six distinct zones, much like sister-ship Mardi Gras, but three of the zones are designed specifically for Carnival Celebration. There will be a variety of on-board entertainment activities such as the Serenity Adult Only Retreat, Waterworks, Punchliner Comedy Club, and Loft 19, not to mention five swimming pools and five jacuzzies. Centrepiece of the Ultimate Playground will be BOLT - the Ultimate Sea Coaster. Guests can expect thrills as all-electric, motorcycle- style vehicles race along an 800-foot track perched 187 feet above the sea, at speeds of up to 40mph. Designed for fun for all-ages, the zone will also be home to the WaterWorks Aqua Park and SportSquare featuring a mini-golf course, full-court basketball and exhilarating ropes course.
