Young jobseekers prioritise company culture A STUDY, carried out by talent and reskill partner, mthree, has shown that, when deciding whether to accept a new role, half of 21–28-year-olds in full-time employment citedculture as the most important factor. Another 41% confirmed culture is one of their main considerations when taking a job. Unfortunately, not all businesses provide details of their culture during the recruitmentprocess, and the study found the following: ● 30% discuss culture in job adverts and to external recruiters ● 37% include information on their website ● 31% promote their culture on social media. This has resulted in 70% of 21–28-year-olds regretting joining a business after discovering what its culture was really like. Additionally, almost a third have left jobs within a year for the same reason, and a quarter have left within six months. The study involved a survey of 1,000 individuals aged between 21 and 28, who were in full-time employment. The associated report can be accessed here: http://ow.ly/ HqzB30shCP9.79

Could rising inflation exacerbate the gender pay gap? ANALYSIS OF survey results released by CIPHR on the topic of pay rises indicates that women are more likely than men to receive pay rises that are below inflation. It was highlighted that 45% of men and 53% of women say they’ve notreceived a pay rise for 2022 (to date). Four times as many men than women reportedly received an above inflation wage rise (8% compared to 2%). Additionally, it also appears that men have access to more flexible working options, such as remote working and a four-day work week, meaning that pay isn’t the only gender disparity at work.
