R ILCO Building Materials supplies market leading modular building products that help do the ‘heavy lifting’ for you. RILCO’s powerful range of prefabricated, sustainably produced and long-lasting building elements from Europe’s leading manufacturers are extensively used for offsite construction projects in Northern Ireland and Ireland. Sales Director, Christos Michaelides, said, “Modular construction brings about many benefits for the environment. In comparison to traditional build, modular offsite construction greatly reduces the amount of waste that is produced due to a controlled factory manufacturing environment. “Modular construction is also a less energy intensive build method, minimising carbon footprint prior to the building even being erected on-site.” TOP PRODUCTS RILCO’s major partners in the modular construction product sector are leading building materials manufacturers FALK Building Systems and James Hardie PLC. FALK Building Systems produce architectural insulated (sandwich) panels for both wall and roof solutions. Based in Holland, this family run business has been in production for over 15 years. FALK Building Systems products provide many benefits including: • Speed of installation, dry construction methodology for modular companies. • High quality of the product and finishes. • Constant supply chain of materials. • Sustainability and lowers the carbon footprint by at least 35%. Using FALK range of products contributes to better sustainability even when considering permanent structures and hybrid modular construction. James Hardie PLC’s Fermacell Gypsum fibre gypsum boards are used extensively in the modular construction of offsite building. Fermacell combines the robustness of blockwork with the speed

of drywall installation – saving you time, money and space. When independently compared to 21 other gypsum boards by consultancy firm Niras, it was found that Fermacell had 50% less embodied carbon on average than the other gypsum boards at production stage. Fermacell’s high load-bearing capacity allows for more design and construction freedom as pieces can be fixed straight onto it. For example, a 12.5 mm thick gypsum fiberboard with fermacell® also carries console loads of up to 50 kg per attachment point. Other benefits include reduction of layers, carbon, project time and pattressing requirements. A single layer system can achieve a 60-minute fire rating, 54dB and severe duty rating. James Hardie is also the world’s leading fibre cement manufacturer with a variety of solutions to finish off the exterior of your build. From the Hardie Plank Weatherboard, Hardie Plank VL – an interlocking weatherboard system – and Hardie facade Panel you can find
the perfect solution. Fibre cement as a material does not rust, rot or corrode. It has no metallic content and has a lifespan of 50 years+.
