We provide high quality personalised care and support, which is flexible to changing needs. Our award-winning teams are committed to the latest and highest standards of training in the industry and our approach is based around person-centred care, which treats each person as an individual and ensures dignity and respect. We work closely with Alzheimer’s Society and a range of other local groups and organisations to remain up-to-date with the latest training and information on person-centred responses to dementia. The well-being of our residents is the corner stone of our approach, we work closely with health partners including GPs, district nurses and community mental health teams to sustain and promote individuals’ health and well-being. We use an electronic care planning system which means our staff have key information about residents’ health and well-being at their fingertips and can easily update and record changes throughout the day, enabling us to adapt care delivery in a responsive way. Respite care and short breaks We welcome people who are looking for a short break or respite care, whether this is following a hospital stay, illness or injury, or if their usual planned care is not available. We’re working hard to keep our residents safe The health and safety of our residents is our priority. We have safety measures in place which are regularly reviewed in line with public health authorities and regulators to ensure our schemes offer a safe place to live. We work to government guidance to create a safe environment, this includes having good supplies of PPE, regular staff and customer testing and robust infection control measures. Mum’s unique character now shines more brightly than before Covid came along “For someone living with dementia, communication takes place through the proximity of another person. What is said is less important than having someone close and just hearing their voice chatting to you. When it finally became a reality for me and my Mum to share that proximity after the pandemic meant we lost physical interaction, I waited impatiently for her arrival, a little anxious in case she had lost all her spark and had nothing to say. “Then suddenly I heard the sound of her voice and that of her carer as they rounded the corner. In a priceless moment of recognition, she beamed widely at me and I felt a surge of love, mixed with relief that we had been given another chance. In the next 45 minutes, we had a good old chinwag, looked at some photos going way back, and recorded a short video to sing happy birthday to her great granddaughter, about to turn two years old. Mum looks her 80 years now but the unique character that makes her who she is somehow seemed to shine through even more brightly than before Covid came along. “My sincere gratitude and admiration go out to all the hard-working care staff. Thank you.” Daughter of resident at Bowbrook sister service, Amber Wood.

Carefully considered design and facilities We pour our heart and soul into crafting care homes that offer our residents the ability to maintain their independence through dementia-friendly design. Using our experience and working with academics and specialist interior designers, we have taken everything into consideration. From colour themes and open plan layouts, to window space and memory boxes with small reminders to help residents find their way, we’ve carefully considered how every part of Bowbrook can help people live well with dementia. Each household has a communal kitchen diner, cinema room, lounge and access to outdoor space – including a rooftop terrace. There is also a snug and smaller dining space for residents who prefer a quieter setting. Residents also have their own spacious en-suite bedrooms to enjoy their privacy when needed. All areas of the home are fitted with an alarm system ensuring 24 hour access to staff should individuals require assistance. As you would expect, our exceptionally high standards also continue when residents step out of the home into any of our outdoor spaces such as our courtyards, gardens and rooftop terrace.

Community living We have seen our approach significantly improve quality of life, and in some cases, it has reduced the use of frequently prescribed medication for our residents living with dementia. We have embraced activities with children, plants and animals, as well as many other parts of local communities, recognising the impact this has. Bowbrook has its very own community hub, featuring a coffee bar, shop and hairdressing salon which are all open to the public when government guidelines allow. Visitors of the home will also be able to easily access the nearby children’s playground. This new care home has been designed to nurture a vibrant community of friends and neighbours. The home has convenient access to the village of Fradley and we are also building connections with local schools and community groups to ensure a social environment is there for residents who would like to get involved.

Delicious meals without compromise At Bowbrook, we believe that the joy of mealtimes is an important event for our residents to look forward to every day. We work with award-winning catering provider, apetito, to ensure every mealtime provides a delicious and nourishing experience for our residents. Our wide range of menu options means we can ensure our meals cater to all diets and cultural backgrounds. At Bowbrook, nobody has to choose between nutrition and taste – because each meal provides equal amounts of both. Relatives are able to easily see the nutritional information of each meal provided using an app and our care technology means we can easily adapt each resident’s menu throughout the day to ensure they receive a balanced diet. We understand the importance of providing a safe and nutritious meal, particularly for those with swallowing difficulties. Should residents require softer textured meals, they can rest assured knowing that they are not only delicious, but also safe and well-presented.

Time to bring joy and happiness
We offer a combination of group activities and one-to-one sessions that bring out the best in people. Not only will we help our residents get the most out of the things they already love, but we will also help them discover all kinds of new activities and pass- times. Our on-site Activities Coordinator works with residents and loved ones to help build a social activity calendar that entertains every individual. Whether group activities, or smaller one to one sessions for more niche interests, residents are able to get what they want from life and our on-site team are at hand to help them live it. We actively engage in intergenerational working, whether this be providing a play area for our residents’ family members, or working with local colleges and schools to undertake community projects. We encourage our residents to help us make decisions about the homes they live in. We have been known to introduce pet rabbits and other scheme pets should residents agree this would benefit them.

How to reserve a space for a loved one We understand how difficult it can be to make the decision to move a loved one into residential care. At Bowbrook, you can be confident that your loved one will receive exceptional care and support in a warm, welcoming and loved environment. When residents move into our homes, quite often family members or partners have been involved in the delivery of care. Upon moving into one of our schemes, the need for worry is removed and family time can return to making positive memories once again.
