Making Magical Memories An Unforgettable Trip to Disneyland

“It is you who will make Disneyland truly a magic kingdom.”–Walt Disney My recent trip to Disneyland with my family was nothing short of magical. It was an opportunity to bond, make memories, and experience the wonder of Disney together. Disney has a unique way of bringing out the kid in all of us, and this trip was no exception — we had the time of our lives. Seven years ago, we visited Disneyland as a family, but our youngest, Adam, was just 2 years old at the time. To avoid the challenges of managing a toddler at the park and attempting to battle long lines, we left him with my parents while the rest of us enjoyed the attractions. Now, at 9 years old, we felt it was the perfect time for Adam to experience the magic of Disneyland firsthand. With my other children having only vague memories of our previous visit, I was excited for them to create new, lasting memories this time around.

However, our journey didn't come without its challenges. During our flight with a layover in Las Vegas, our connecting flight was delayed, extending our layover by a few unexpected hours. In a moment of boredom, I decided to stretch my legs and left my phone charging next to a family at the gate. I didn’t know my family's flight had been moved up, and they could not contact me. I returned to find my phone abandoned and my family gone, with our flight already boarding. Frantically, I raced through the airport to find them, narrowly making it in time — I arrived just as they were about to step on the plane! It was a moment of panic that could have derailed our entire trip, but thankfully, it all worked out in the end, and we made it to Disney just as we planned. For three days, we explored Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios. The addition of the“Star Wars” area at Disneyland was a dream come true for our family of“Star Wars”enthusiasts (many of you have probably noticed the Darth Vader-stained glass window I created at the office). At Universal Studios, the newly opened Super Nintendo World was a highlight, especially as a devoted fan of Super Mario Brothers (I have also made three other Nintendo stained glass creations)! Unfortunately, on our third day at Universal Studios, my second youngest, Jocelyn, fell ill with a stomach bug. Still,

she insisted on staying behind at the hotel to ensure nobody else missed out on the fun. Her maturity and responsibility during a challenging situation were truly admirable, and we stocked her up on snacks, which she wasn’t really able to enjoy. Thankfully, after a day of rest, she was feeling much better. As our trip ended, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the memories we created together. From the unexpected layover in Las Vegas to the exhilarating adventures at the theme parks, we cherished every moment. And with aching legs, we were all happy to sleep in our own beds once we returned home. Disneyland truly lived up to its reputation as the happiest place on earth, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to share the magic with my family! Until next time!

Your 4-Week Spring-Cleaning Calendar

Spring-cleaning can be overwhelming. From the kitchen counter to the ceiling fan, there’s a lot of ground to cover. But there’s a trick to make it easier: Breaking down the work into quick, doable tasks spread over four weeks. First Week: The Living Room The start of every journey begins with a single step, and that step is acquiring and prepping supplies. Wash out buckets, empty vacuum bags, throw microfiber cloths in the wash, clean mops, and shake out brooms. Next, it’s time to clean the light fixtures. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe away dust and debris. Then dunk the cloth in soapy water, wring it out, and scrub the light fixture covering the bulb until it shines — just make sure you turn the lights off first. Once you’ve finished the lights, head to the bookshelves. Dust the tops and wipe down the sides. Make sure to wipe down any pictures or

too. Now that the toilet’s shining, it is the perfect opportunity to get the floor. Take a little extra time to get the baseboards. Fourth Week: The Bedroom Clean the bedrooms from top to bottom. Now is a good time to wash your pillows and air-dry them. Bedroom ceiling fans can build up a lot of gunk over the winter. An easy way to clean them is by pulling

Second Week: The Kitchen Clean the dishwasher filter first. Devote the next two days to getting the stove to sparkle, including ridding the vent of grease. Wipe down the countertops and the cabinets. Clean out the microwave and wipe down any other countertop appliances. Congratulations, week two is over!

a pillowcase around the blades and pulling them back. Next, polish any wood furniture. Thoroughly clean the windows with glass cleaner or a homemade mixture of vinegar and water, and remember to clean the window tracks. Lastly, test the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Third Week: The Bathroom You’ll want to begin by removing the grime from the showerhead and sanitizing the curtain. The curtain can be scrubbed and air-dried in the sun. Then clean and sanitize the shower and sink. For the toilets, get under the rim with a toilet brush and give the much-ignored back some love,

A Word From Cheyenne & Ashlee Image Is Everything — Why Do We Take X-Rays?

Dental X-rays play a crucial role in helping dentists monitor oral health and detect issues that may not be visible during a regular dental exam. These images can confirm the health of teeth or uncover hidden problems like cavities or impacted teeth. Determining the Need for X-Rays In the office, we will assess your dental history and conduct an examination to determine if X-rays are necessary. Factors such as your current oral health, age, risk for disease, and any symptoms of oral issues will influence the decision to take X-rays. Ensuring X-Ray Safety Despite emitting low doses of radiation, dental X-rays are designed to minimize potential risks. Advances in technology have significantly reduced radiation exposure during dental imaging procedures. However, American Dental Association (ADA) experts advise moderation in X-ray usage to minimize exposure further. Evolution of Safety Measures Abdominal and thyroid shielding, once commonly used during X-rays, is now considered unnecessary for patients of all ages and health statuses, including pregnancy. These shields can obstruct the X-ray beam, potentially requiring additional imaging.

Fascinating Secrets of Disneyland DID YOU KNOW? ToothFacts Fun EXPLORING THE INNER WORKINGS OF TOOTH BLOOD VESSELS AND NERVES

Each tooth in the human mouth is a complex structure with its own blood supply and nerve endings. The blood supply to each tooth originates from branches of the maxillary and mandibular arteries, ensuring every tooth receives the necessary oxygen and nutrients for proper function and maintenance. Additionally, nerves, known as dental pulp, run through the center of each tooth, transmitting sensations such as pain, pressure, and temperature to the brain. The dental pulp contains blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and nerve fibers, all encased within the hard outer layers of enamel and dentin. This intricate network of blood vessels and nerves plays a crucial role in sensing potential threats to the tooth, such as decay or injury, and initiating appropriate responses to protect it. When dental decay or trauma occurs, it can compromise the integrity of the tooth's blood supply and nerve endings, leading to pain, infection, and potential tooth loss if left untreated. Therefore, maintaining proper oral hygiene and seeking timely dental care is essential for preserving the health of each tooth and ensuring a pain-free smile for years to come!

Did you know Disneyland was constructed in just one year? Opening its gates on July 17, 1955, the park was a monumental feat of engineering and creativity. Disneyland is the only theme park in the world that Walt Disney himself personally oversaw. In fact, he even had an apartment built for himself and his family above the fire station on Main Street, where a lamp is left lit in his memory to this day. Disneyland is a treasure trove of hidden surprises for the observant visitor. From the whimsical Mickey Mouse shapes hidden throughout the park to the secret basketball court tucked away inside the Matterhorn, there's always a new secret waiting to be uncovered. And don't be fooled by the modest 77-foot height of the Sleeping Beauty Castle — clever architectural tricks and forced perspective techniques make it appear much taller. With its rich history, innovative attractions, and timeless charm, Disneyland continues to captivate millions of visitors from around the globe, making it a beloved icon of American culture and entertainment.
