EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH ‘CHAIN SETHIWAN’

20+ years. Although I do not have any issues with them, it is important to gain understanding from their perception in order to maintain team chemistry. T1: Your grandfather was the patriarch of the family business and you were very close to him, can you describe his influence on you ? My late grandfather has always been my role model, a person whom I looked up to since I was very young. Living in the same household made our connection tighter over time. During the pandemic, when the world paused for a brief period, I had the chance to shadow him at the family office. I could see that not only was he the hardest working person there, but he was also the wisest and most genuine person to everyone, including employees. I learned so much from him about how to treat each person with respect and dignity. Moreover, I had the opportunity to accompany him to various philanthropy events where he was a leader in donating and giving speeches to those in need. I am truly grateful for his benevolence towards the community. I'm certain that these experiences learning from him have influenced me to become who I am today. »

T1: Can you tell us about the rice industry in Thailand and how your company stands out within the market? The rice industry in Thailand is undoubtedly one of the major contributors to the country’s economy. Rice has been among the earliest commodities traded from Thailand to the outside world. The emergence of Thai rice exports brings an abundance of opportunities for both local farmers and exporters, generating income and welfare to benefit Thailand's ever-changing economy. Additionally, Thailand benefits from its rich geographical region, making it suitable for growing high-quality Jasmine (Thai Hom Ma Li) rice. As for Thai Hua (2511), we have been in the rice business for over 50 years, starting with my grandfather who established it in the late 1960s. With testimonies from reputable importers around the world, rest assured that our rice is of high quality. I would say the most important aspect of Thai Hua is actually from my grandfather's motto, "Always be honest, resilient, and bold." These are the words ingrained in our hearts, propelling us to rank among the top 5 rice exporters in the country to this day.

As a rice exporter, we need to keep up with a wide range of clients around the world, and each of them is different. While some are extremely understanding, others can be tough to talk to. Additionally, the way they negotiate for business varies, so you need to be sharp at understanding the strategies they employ. Another aspect is within the company, where you work with employees who have been there for at least
