FBA Announces Board Members, New EPR Resources The Fibre Box Association (FBA) has announced the re-election of several Board of Directors members, the election of one new member, and its officer slate for 2026–2027, all approved by vote of all members during the Annual Meeting held on April 16, 2026. Re-elected Board members, each serving a three-year term from 2026–2029, are Cathy Foley, Pratt Industries; Joe Palmeri, Jamestown Container; Clay Shaw, Batavia Container; Ray Shirley, Packaging Corporation of America; Dale Sommer, Buckeye Corrugated; and Keith Townsend, International Paper. John Schwarz of Schwarz Partners was newly elected to the Board, filling the seat vacated by Don Sparaco of Smurfit Westrock, who moved to the officer slate as Sec- ond Vice Chair. Newly elected officers for 2026–2027 are Mike Riegsecker, Menasha, Chair; Jack Fitterman, Liberty Diver- sified International, First Vice Chair; Don Sparaco, Smurfit Westrock, Second Vice Chair; Bob McIlvaine, FBA, Presi- dent; and Cory Martin, FBA, Executive Vice President. New EPR Resources Available For FBA Members As Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation continues to expand, FBA has developed new resources to help member companies navigate evolving policy. The first is a structured overview of current EPR laws that may be relevant to corrugated packaging, including general program descriptions, timelines, and high-level summaries of key requirements. The second is a compan- ion master spreadsheet that organizes statutory informa- tion in a side-by-side format, making it easier to compare provisions across states and jurisdictions. Together, they cover elements such as program scope, key definitions, and implementation timelines. These resources are intended as a centralized, easy-to-navigate reference drawing on publicly available statutory information. They are informational in nature and do not constitute legal advice. Member companies should consult their own counsel to assess how any particular statute may apply to their operations. Flash Manufacturing PMI Reaches Four-Year High, Demand Strengthens The S&P Global Flash U.S. Manufacturing PMI increased from 52.3 to 54.0 in April, a 47-month high, continuing the trend of nine consecutive months of growth. Factory pro- duction and new order growth improved in April, with both experiencing their strongest expansion since 2022. Meanwhile, export orders declined after stagnating the prior month as a result of uncertainty caused by the con- flict in the Middle East. CONTINUED ON PAGE 32
