GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS SARA!

The beginning of this month marks the end of Sara’s time with Peak Motion. She is leaving to pursue a new career as a vision therapist. Sara has been a wonderful part of our team over the past few years. We will be sad to see her go but are excited for her new opportunity. Here are a few words from Sara: “Sometimes opportunities come TO you and they can’t be ignored. It just makes the decision to change and try something new that much harder. In the beginning of July, I am leaving the Peak Motion office to embark on a new adventure in Vision Therapy. Vision therapy has been a part of my life since the age of six when my eye crossed causing me to see double. In lieu of surgery, my parents opted for vision therapy to strengthen the eye muscles and retrain my brain to use both eyes. Twelve years of hard work paid off, and I no longer needed glasses to correct my eyes. Many years older and my eyes have begun to cross again. I searched out a local Optometrist specializing in vision therapy and began my therapy again. The rest of the story is history, well to be made history as I have accepted a position to learn and train to become a Vision Therapist.

I tell every new patient who comes in our doors that you are joining a family at Peak Motion. We will help you, push you, laugh with you and support you to become a healthier you. I am so proud of Peak Motion and my heart will always be here and a part of this family!”

Patient Success SPOTLIGHT

I have no more pain in my daily life! "I was in two car accidents 7 days apart. I had neck, back, and hip pain that affected just about everything I did: walking, standing, sitting, and being active with my two kids. After a long road and a lot of exercises, my pain is gone. I have no more pain in my daily life and I even gave my 9-year old a piggy back ride upstairs to bed recently after an 18-month hiatus. Peak Motion has become like family. I can’t thank everyone enough for giving me back my life pain free!” - Katie F.

STRETCHING FOR NECK PAIN RELIEF

Neck pain and headaches typically come from poor posture and tight muscles in the neck, shoulders and upper back. This produces what is called a forward head posture. By stretching the tight muscles along the back of your neck, as well as strengthening the muscles at the front of the neck, neck pain can be relieved. Correcting bad posture can be as simple as strengthening the abdominal region. However, keep in mind that when dealing with a forward-head posture, you will also have forward- rounded shoulders and increased curvature of the upper spine. Our physical therapists are trained in posture evaluation and treatment, helping you even if you have quite severe changes. It’s never too late! Tightmusclesareabigfactor inmostneckpainandheadaches. Stretching the muscles of your chest and strengthening the muscles of the middle back helps. For long term benefits, learning the right exercises can make a big difference in preventing neck pain and headaches from returning. Therefore, before you start taking any headache medicine for chronic neck pain, you might want to analyze your body posture first. Finding tension in your neck or limited range of motion in your spine might be the cause. Correcting it through physical therapy might be a simple solution for your headaches and neck pains.
