The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) 2004 and California Education Code (EC) require the inclusion of students with disabilities in state and districtwide assessment programs with appropriate accommodations being made for the students where necessary. The California approved achievement tests are administered each spring to all students in grades 3-8, and 11. Local Education Agencies (LEAs) utilize the information that is gathered to make decisions regarding how to design and implement instruction for their students.
