Topics will include stayman, jacoby transfers, reverses, support doubles, negative doubles, splinter bids, cue bid raises, new minor forcing, fourth suit forcing, responsive doubles, lead directing doubles, balancing and help suit game tries. A wide variety of hands will be played to keep you interested and challenged. The class is suitable for intermediate players who are comfortable with basic bidding and play. Davis Bonner, instructor, is accredited by the American Contract Bridge League as a Certified Bridge Teacher and is a Sapphire Life Master. May is Older Americans month as designated in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy. The 2023 theme is Aging Unbound, which offers an opportunity to explore diverse aging experiences. It is hoped you will add to and enhance your diverse aging experiences with the programs, events and classes outlined throughout our Rec Guide. Cheers to you! Bagels With Berns Mayor Berns will join us on Wednesday, May 3 to proclaim May as Older Americans month. This month highlights the contributions made by those 65 and older and the positive aspects of growing older. Come and enjoy a bagel and conversation! Bunco Comes To Beachwood Bunco is a fun dice game generally played with twelve or more players (or any number of players divisible by 4), trying to score points while taking turns rolling three dice in a series of six rounds. A bunco is achieved when a person rolls three-of-a-kind and all three numbers match the round number. Let’s learn to play this game together on Tuesdays from 2:00 – 3:00 PM starting May 2. Have You Heard, Have You Eaten, Have You Seen? Instructor: Dr. Danielle Hoenig & Lori Rosenberg In celebration of Better Hearing and Speech month (May), Dr. Danielle Hoenig, Audiologist with Hearing Life and Lori Rosenberg, MS Outreach Educator CapTel Outreach will present, Have You Heard? Facts and fiction in the World of Hearing . This interactive program will be informative and fun!
