Rapture. The phrase “a falling away” in our Authorized Version is an interesting one, for in the Greek the definite article is there. It reads literally “the falling away.” This is not just an ordinary time of apostasy. These are people who have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. We are seeing signs of this falling away today; however, the fulfillment of this prophetic statement will be real ized fully during the Tribulation. Never has there been so much religiosity in the world’s history as today. Church membership is up, but do not be confused. The true Gospel message, how that Christ died for our sins accord ing to the Scripture, that He was buried, and that He arose again the third day according to the Scripture, is not being preached today as it has been in generations past. Q. Gardena, Calif. — “Can one man save another man’s soul? Can he forgive another man’s sins?” A. Dr. B. Warfield, in one of his lectures declared, “All theology, like a continental divide, separates on this one point: whether man saves himself or God saves him.” The message of the Bible is uni form from Genesis to the Revela tion, God saves man! Psalm 49: 7-9 speaks of rich people who trust in their wealth and boast themselves in a multitude of their riches, yet none of these things will avail. I Timothy 2:5 declares that "There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all.” No man can by any means give a ransom for his brother, but Christ Jesus gave Himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time. No individ ual can forgive in the eternal sense another man’s sin. Forgiveness is 24

the province of God alone, based upon the redemptive work of Christ (Psa. 130:4). Q. La Puente, Calif. — "How does one open his heart to the Lord? I f he grieves the Holy Spirit, what does one do?” A. Open your heart by simply saying, “I will accept the Lord as my Saviour. I will allow Him to come into my life and to take com plete control.” The old psychology divides man into three parts: in tellect, feeling and will, or the mind, the emotions, and determi nation. Through these avenues one opens his heart to the Lord. It is a matter of submission to the will of the Lord Jesus Christ. The function of the Holy Spirit is to present Jesus Christ to lost individuals. The unforgivable sin is blasphemy against Him by denying or refusing to accept Je sus Christ as Saviour. Scripture indicates that one who attributed the works of the devil to the Holy Spirit and vice versa could not be forgiven. Christ is the only Sav iour. Q. El Cajon, Calif. — “Is there any Bible basis for the belief that children shall be judged accord ing to the belief or unbelief of their parents? As an example, at the Rapture, will there be any children left on the earth?” A. It is our firm conviction that there will be no children left on the earth. Children will be saved regardless of the belief or un belief of their parents. We base this on such verses as Matthew 19:14. Our Lord says it is neces sary to become as a little child to enter into the Kingdom of heav en. “In heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Fa ther which is in heaven,” Christ said. He makes it plain that the
