PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications:

• Experience and track record in a senior estates/property/facilities leadership role with experience of initiating, developing and delivering estates and commercial strategies to support an organisation’s institutional strategy. • Senior level leadership experience gained within a large, complex organisation with a track record for successfully inspiring and leading a large-scale, in-house staff cohort ranging from senior managers to operational professionals. • Track record of leading a large-scale capital development programme across a diverse and technically complex estate portfolio. • Proven experience in programme management with up-to-date knowledge of best practice in project delivery and project management • Experience of leading a diverse range of services/activities such as asset management and compliance, facilities management, health & safety etc • A demonstrable track record of introducing change and innovative ways of working • Sound experience of financial planning and budget management • Knowledge and preferably experience of working with external partners on the realisation of property strategies • Degree level qualification or professional membership in a relevant field Skills, Abilities and Competencies: • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills; able to act as an effective ambassador for the University and build partnerships with external parties at a local, regional, national and international level • Ability to exert influence at senior levels and achieve results • Ability to think strategically and laterally • The ability to understand higher education planning and funding • A commitment to the University’s ideals, values and mission The post-holder will uphold and demonstrate our ‘VITAL’ core service values in day-to-day working: Valuing People We respect, trust and appreciate our people.
