Tilly , 28, has recently achieved her goal of becoming a homeowner, purchasing a 40% share of her one bedroom apartment thanks to shared ownership and Guinness Homes. Originally from South Gloucestershire, sales professional Tilly had been looking to move out of her family home and get on to the property ladder for some time, but, frustratingly, her buying journey was put on hold throughout Covid. Tilly says, “I have extremely high standards, even more so when buying a home! Everything from the detailed drawings to the materials used within the brochures exceeded my expectations.” Like most rst time buyers, Tilly had a clear wish list, and her new home has more than delivered. “When I was looking to buy a new home, I was after a neutral place, with decent ooring and nishes, and somewhere that didn’t require a lot of work or maintenance. A neutral kitchen, bathroom and living area has allowed me to add furniture and accessories to make my home my own. I have one bedroom, bathroom and a kitchen and lounge area. I’m on the ground oor, so I have a patio with a lovely outside courtyard space, which is a gorgeous sun trap in the summer months! The space gets plenty of sunlight, creating a calm space for when I’m working from home.” Tilly explains that buying through shared ownership meant she didn’t have to compromise on location. “I wouldn’t have been able to afford to live in Bristol without shared ownership,” she concludes.
