Nescot’s Performing Arts Department offers training in Acting for Stage and Screen, Dance, Musical Theatre, Performance and Production. It is made up of two companies: Forge Theatre and Nexus Ensemble. The companies perform with the ethos of creating work which is physically daring, emotionally engaging and visually stunning. Based on the principles of a drama school, Forge Theatre and The Nexus Ensemble offer the opportunity to experience a professional theatre environment. Classes are offered in acting, acting for screen, movement, voice, ballet, tap, jazz, singing and musical theatre (depending on the pathway chosen). All assignments are industry-focused, with an emphasis on performance. Students practice as a theatre company and have the opportunity to perform in a number of different shows throughout the year, at both internal and external venues. Staff are qualified and experienced practitioners who are specialists in

their areas and continue to train and work within the industry. Facilities are located on the main campus and include two fully equipped theatre spaces, state-of- the-art studios, an acting for screen studio, a workshop and study spaces. Enrichment includes theatre trips, professional headshots, and an industry-related careers week with talks and workshops from casting directors, agencies, drama schools, equity, performers and producers.
