LEVEL 3
The Level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering is for individuals who are currently working or want to work within the Gas Sector as a gas engineer. IT ALLOWS LEARNERS TO DEVELOP THE KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE THE SKILLS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYMENT IN THE GAS ENGINEERING INDUSTRY. COURSE OVERVIEW The apprenticeship has been designed to support the on-programme element of the Gas Engineering Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard February 2016 and directly replaces the Level 3 Gas Utilisation (6014). On completion of the course, you will be registered on the Gas Safe scheme for the following units: CCN 1, CPA 1, MET 1, CENWAT, Unvented hot water (G3). Gas engineering operatives roles include installing and maintaining gas appliances in a domestic or non-domestic setting, advising customers on how appliances work and how to use energy more efficiently. Other roles include: Gas Emergency First Call Operative Gas Installation Engineer Heating Engineer Gas Maintenance Engineer Gas Service Technician LENGTH The apprenticeship will take 24 months.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need to have achieved GCSEs at grade 4 or above (or comparable qualification) in English and maths. Applicants must be employed with a suitable employer and have all relevant contractual documentation in place prior to college enrolment. The employer must be Gas Safe registered. PROGRESSION Fully-qualified Level 3 Gas Engineer. Qualify for full CSCS card and Gas Safe Registration and ability to work on domestic sites in England. Possible progression on to managerial/supervisory roles and other higher-level apprenticeships such as a Building Services Technician. COURSE CODE: P8812
